Thanks for stopping by. Just in case you were wondering Sunshine Winters is actually my real name but most people call me Sunny. I was blessed to have fun-loving parents who needed a little Sunshine in 1976.  I'm a Texas girl-born and raised, but I'm always California Dreamin'. I love the sea and sunshine but I'll take an awesome snowy winter scene too.  I always loved visual art as a kid but wasn't much of an artist so I decided to study photography at the Art Institute of Houston.  I graduated in 1998 and moved to New York to follow my dreams and work in the photo industry.  I began working in photo labs, then managed a photography studio in Soho. I worked in photo production at Art + Commerce, a talent agency for photographers.  I then gained the most valuable learning experiences by working as a freelance photo assistant for some incredibly talented portrait, fashion, travel and music photographers.

After witnessing 9/11, I decided I wanted to be closer to my family in Houston. I began working as a wedding photographer and fell in love personally and with weddings! As a photographer I loved how weddings incorporate so many styles of photography from portraits, fashion, documentary and even product shots. Learning about so many different cultures and traditions was so much fun for me. 

In 2011, I married my wonderful and handsome hubby and in 2014, we welcomed our precious little Z into the world. I love being a mom more then anything. I feel so blessed I've been able to capture all of his stages of life. Life moves quickly now and capturing all those stages in life is so important...even with my dogs. I have two of the cutest little fur baby Bichons. All boys in my house....#boymomlife
